Osprey TALON UHD-SC Rugged UHD Encoder

The TALON UHD-SC Rugged UHD Encoder from Osprey is a versatile encoder that handles bitrate encoding up to 100 Mb/s in both VBR and CBR. It supports video archiving via its USB 3.0 output and network storage. Video compression occurs in H.265 (HEVC and H.264 (AVC) with up to 10-bit 4:2:2 color space and resolutions up to UHD 4K60. The 12G-SDI input carries up to 16 embedded audio channels (eight stereo pairs) and audio compression supported includes AAC-LC and OPUS audio for UDP, RTP, SRT, and Zixi. The unit's software integration enables SMPTE 2038 and embedded CEA-708 closed caption support as well as password protection and network time protocol. Video processing tools include upscaling, downscaling, frame rate conversion, and deinterlacing. The encoder comes with side-mount L-brackets, a power switch blind plug for "always on" operations, and a power supply.
