The X3-II from Movo is a versatile and cost-effective shotgun microphone for use with cameras, recorders, and mixers. The mic's electret-condenser capsule features a narrow supercardioid polar pattern that focuses audio pickup on the subject or scene directly in front of the mic, helping to reduce unwanted background noise and room tone coming from the sides and, to a somewhat lesser extent, the rear.
Shockmount with Camera Shoe Mount
The X3-II features a durable aluminum build and comes with a Rycote Lyre dual shockmount that reduces vibrations and handling noise for clearer audio. The shockmount features a shoe mount that attaches to your camera shoe, cage, or rig for quick and easy recording on the go. The mic can be detached from the shockmount for direct boom pole attachment.
Powered via 48V Phantom or AA Battery
A 3-position switch lets you select whether the mic is powered by 48V phantom power or a single AA battery; the third position activates the high-pass filter, which effectively removes unwanted low frequencies below 150 Hz.
Accessories Included
In addition to the shockmount /camera mount, the mic comes with a thread adapter, a swivel adapter, and a hand grip. In addition, a foam windscreen for indoor/outdoor shoots is supplied. For breezier outdoor conditions, a furry windshield is provided to help cut wind noise. Two cables are provided: an XLR to XLR and an XLR to 3.5mm. The mic fits into the included zippered carrying pouch, so you can go anywhere the action takes you.
