Sony ZV-E10 II Overview

Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera (Black)
With improved features that expand upon its content-creation-focused predecessor, the Sony ZV-E10 II is outfitted with a 26MP APS-C sensor for faster performance and high-quality imagery in a compact form factor designed for vloggers. This aligns the ZV-E10 II with tried and true models such as the FX30 and the a6700. Built-in creative shooting modes, a 3-capsule directional microphone, and a 3" articulating LCD touchscreen with vertical orientation support and integrated tally light make for a powerful multi-purpose vlogging device. Other notable upgrades with the ZV-E10 II include a 759-point phase detection autofocus system, Cinematic Vlog mode, and compatibility with larger-capacity NP-FZ100 batteries.
Vlogging Features
Optimized Camera-Design
  • A rear 3" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD with a flip-out design allows you to easily film yourself or take selfies with ease. When recording, an integrated tally lamp creates a red border around the LCD. If you're filming vertically for TikTok or Instagram, your LCD screen will flip to display information vertically as well.
  • A directional 3-capsule microphone is specifically designed for forward-directional audio recording for vlog and interview applications. A dedicated windscreen minimizes distortion when filming outdoors.
  • Both 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports are also featured for more advanced audio recording, and the Multi Interface Shoe also benefits audio recording capabilities. This accessory shoe supports a digital audio interface that helps to achieve lower noise during recording and also eliminates cable clutter and the need for external power when working with compatible shoe-mounted mics.
Connectivity and Live Streaming
Ports on the ZV-E10 II include a micro-HDMI video output and USB-C data output, which can facilitate video sharing to a computer or compatible mobile device. You can even live stream to social media using the USB-C data port or integrated 5 GHz WiFi. The USB-C data port also supports high-speed wired transfers to a compatible device through the Sony Creators App. RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT streaming protocols are supported as well as UVC standards, which allow you to use the camera as a webcam.
Specialized Shooting Modes
  • Product Showcase setting is ideal for vlogging and product review or demonstration videos and allows for quick and smooth focus transitions between a subject's face and an object placed in front of the lens.
  • Background Defocus lets you immediately switch to the maximum aperture setting of the attached lens, using a custom button function, for isolating your subject using shallow depth of field and bokeh.
  • Focus Breathing Compensation actively corrects any visual distortion that might occur while manually or automatically toggling your camera's focus.
  • Slow & Quick (S&Q) mode allows shooters to capture Full HD video at specified steps between 1-120 fps. These settings will allow you to slow down action as well as speed up a slow-moving scene.
Image Quality, Autofocus, and 4K Video
26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor
Similar to the sensor found on the FX30 or a6700 flagship, the ZV-E10 II has an APS-C-format 26MP Exmor CMOS sensor for smooth, nuanced image quality with minimal noise. A high sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 can be further expanded to ISO 102400 for increased low-light performance. The sensor works in tandem with an upgraded BIONZ XR processor for 8x faster performance with an increased 5.6K oversampling area.
Increased Phase Detection
The ZV-E10 II has fast-hybrid 759-point phase detection and subject-recognition algorithms for improved subject recognition. Real-time Eye AF can prioritize focusing on human or animal eyes for ensured sharpness when making portraits. When selected, this function is activated by half-pressing the shutter button, and you can further choose to prioritize either the right or left eye. Real-time tracking utilizes AI-based algorithms and automatically recognizes and tracks moving subjects. If Face/Eye Priority AF is on, this tracking method will further track a subject's eye or face in real-time depending on the status of the moving subject.
4K Video Recording
UHD 4K video recording is possible up to 60p and uses full pixel readout with 5.6K oversampling to yield greater detail with reduced moiré and aliasing. Full HD 1080p recording is also supported in frame rates up to 120 fps, and both resolutions utilize the 600 Mb/s XAVC HS and XAVC S-I formats with 4:2:2 sampling. The camera includes S-Cinetone and S-Log 3 color, which make for better grading control and full utilization of the 14-stop dynamic range. You can also assign LUTs or use the Creative Looks mode to apply preset color effects to your footage while shooting.
Larger Battery Capacity
In order to accommodate the NP-FZ100 battery, the ZV-E10 II now has a slightly larger body design while still maintaining an overall compact form factor for portability. When using the NP-FZ100 battery, you can now record approximately 610 shots per charge for a 30% increase over the previous model. Power can also be supplied to the camera through the USB-C port or by using the optional power adapter.

Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens (Sony E, Black)

Designed for APS-C mirrorless camera sensors, the black E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens from Sony offers a versatile full-frame equivalent zoom angle of 24-75mm within a compact design. A variable aperture of f/3.5 to 5.6 helps keep the lens's size and weight to a minimum while accommodating most use cases. When the camera is powered off, the lens retracts to just 1.25".

Quick autofocusing and improved Optical SteadyShot image stabilization counteract handheld camera shake for sharper imagery. Four aspherical elements and one Extra-Low Dispersion element ensure high-resolution imagery throughout the zoom range. The lens supports focus pulling while shooting up to 120 fps and autofocus while zooming for intuitive single-person filming with moving subjects.

Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens (Black)
Telephoto Versatility for APS-C
An ideal complement to many kit zooms, the black E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens from Sony opens the door to many telephoto perspectives with its 82.5-315mm equivalent focal length range on APS-C-format E-mount cameras. This portrait-length to mid-tele reach is ideal for a range of subjects, from portraits to distant sports and landscapes, and its sleek size also makes it a great travel companion.
Optics and Design
  • Designed for APS-C-format cameras, this 55-210mm lens perfectly complements many kit zooms by providing an 82.5-315mm equivalent focal length range for telephoto applications.
  • A variable f/4.5-6.3 maximum aperture helps keep overall lens size and weight to a minimum.
  • Two extra-low dispersion glass elements are featured in the lens design to help reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality.
  • Two aspherical elements are incorporated in the lens design to reduce astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations.
  • Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques.
Autofocus and Image Stabilization
  • An internal focus mechanism contributes to faster, more responsive autofocus, the minimum focus distance of 3.3', and easier handling as the lens does not change in length during use.
  • Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds. This stabilization system can be combined with select camera's sensor-shift type image stabilization for more effective control of camera blur.

Beyond serving as just an accessory grip, the grip itself can be splayed into three legs and function as a tripod for hands-free shooting. The integrated head can tilt upward 80° (40° when setup as a tripod), downward 90°, and rotate 360° for easier positioning. Whether you're recording content on a computer or a tablet, this USB microphone can ensure a professional sound, as its capsule is specifically tuned for the spoken word, and its construction is tailored to provide as little handling noise as possible. Plus, with free RODE Connect software, you can simultaneously use up to four NT-USB Mini mics with a single Mac/Windows computer and unlock special features optimized for podcasting.
    Works with Your Setup
    • The mic will operate with both Mac and Windows computers, no special driver downloads are required.
    • You can also use it with smartphones and tablets, so long as you have the compatible adapter for mobile devices (available separately).
    • No preamp, interface, converters, or mixer are necessary for recording your voice.
    • The included stand is more than a stand—it isolates the NT-USB Mini from structurally borne noises and vibrations; this delivers a cleaner sound.
    • If you want to take the mic off the stand, this is easy, as its magnetically attached. A 5/8 to 3/8" thread adapter ensures you can mount NT-USB Mini on nearly any mic stand.
    Designed for the Spoken Word
    • The NT-USB Mini's condenser capsule is tuned by RODE to capture both the warmth and the presence of your voice, giving your recordings the heft they need to cut through the fray.
    • It will do so, while minimizing noise in the room, thanks to its cardioid polar pattern, which naturally focuses audio spoken directly into the mic while tamping down any sound to the back or sides.
    • An internal windscreen filters out vocal plosives to help you capture a clean recording, one that sounds professional right out of the gate.
    • The mic records audio at 24-bit/48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for how many samples it can record in a second, and providing a high degree of dynamic range. A non-techy translation: this microphone is well suited for picking up the nuances of your voice.
Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room
    • The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound.
    • This polar pattern naturally tamps down room tone, focusing the audio capture on whatever's in front of the mic.
    • Depending on your particular room, you may still need a little room treatment, or some noise-reduction software, to address issues such as your computer's hum or your air conditioner—but the chances of this are markedly lower with a cardioid polar pattern.
Built-In 3.5mm Headphone Jack and Volume Dial
    • The mic offers a headphone jack for monitoring.
    • Just plug a pair of headphones into the NT-USB Mini's 3.5mm jack, and you'll be able to listen to your high-quality audio in all its glory.
    • Also, a convenient volume dial helps you raise or lower the headphone volume; you won't have to change the volume on your computer or your recording software to hear audio at your desired level.
Up to Four Mics for Panel Podcasts
RODE Connect is a simple, powerful, and free software solution for podcasting and livestreaming with the NT-USB Mini.
    • Unlock the true potential of the NT-USB Mini: RODE Connect unlocks access to the NT-USB Mini’s built-in compressor, noise gate, and legendary APHEX Aural Exciter and Big Bottom processors. Activated with a single click, each processor is optimized for the NT-USB Mini and will deliver an extra level of professional shine to your recordings.
    • Podcast the easy way: connect up to four NT-USB Minis to a single Mac or PC without the need for complex routing or complicated software. • Stream like a pro: together with the NT-USB Mini, RODE Connect is a powerful solution for streamers and gamers who want to simplify their audio setup. Offering streamlined control over microphone audio and external applications, plus dedicated output controls for streaming apps like OBS or Xsplit, setting up livestream audio has never been easier.

Does this come with a battery charger?
    Asked by: Wendy
The Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera does not come with a method for charging the battery. However you can use a USB-C cable plus a standard USB wall charger. Or you can use an external charger such as this: https://bhpho.to/3yohxfx

Can this be plugged into a power source while recording?
    Asked by: Daniel
The Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens has a USB-C power connector. You can attach a USB-C PD cable (like this one: https://bhpho.to/3R8mtva) to USB-C PD power adapter (such as this: https://bhpho.to/4f3735Y) and connect this to the camera (to provide it power while you record).

What is the duration for shooting video, and is there an overheating issue in any video mode?
    Asked by: trung
The Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens and Basic Bundle (Black) does not have a video record limit. Like any camera it can over heat, depending on how hot it is outside and the settings.  But it is a good camera for video.
