While I still long for the classic grain of Kodak Plus-X 125, there are some slow-ish black-and-white films that yield good results while being easy on the wallet. Arista 100 is such a film (and is also available in 100-foot lengths to make it even more affordable to those who are inclined to bulk-load their own canisters). Other films might get more love from the influencer community, but I've always been pleased with the results I get from Arista. This particular product has DX coding on the canister, whereas the original Arista EDU does not. For older (e.g. most manual-focus) cameras this won't make any difference, since ISO is set manually anyway, but many newer cameras--and especially point-and-shoots--can only set ISO from the DX coding, and will default to some setting (maybe 100, maybe something else) if the canister is not DX-coded. So having the DX-coded version can only help!
