Love it for my MacBook Air, iPhone and iPad

I tend to carry ALL of my lightweight gear when I travel - you never know when you will need a Mac or an external drive. This little SSD is perfect. I have no problem connecting it directly to my MBAir or my iPhone though some people seem to indicate issues with having a case on their devices. I have a case on both. I went ahead and ordered the SSD with the hub just to give me more flexibility. Is it the fastest SSD in the world? Nope. However, I don't use it for my heavy-duty data processing. It is fast enough for me, though, and as an additional place to store/retrieve data when I am on the road its portability is great. I now have 2 of these puppies if that tells you anything.

This tiny (smaller than a box of Tic-Tacs) SSD is very easy to use and works well. In addition to the drive itself, it comes with a USB-C hub (also tiny - about the size of a matchbook) that provides multiple connections and the ability to attach a power source for extended sessions. Also included are a small adapter that can be used to piggyback the drive onto the back of a smartphone, and a short connector cable. Everything comes packaged in a zipper carrying case that is approximately 4X6 inches in size. I chose it because of its small size as a backup device for my photos on a Galápagos Islands expedition, and it fit the bill perfectly.

The Lexar 1TB Professional Go USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD with Hub, B&H # LELSL400S001, is not compatible with the iPhone 12 Pro Max; the plug is fixed, so you wouldn't be able to use a Lightning to USB-C cable.
