From Manufacturer
This Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 DANTE Kit from B&H supplements the Dante-enabled four-channel rackmount receiver with four handheld transmitters and four MMD 835 dynamic cardioid microphone capsules to create a complete, professional-quality, four-person wireless mic system that's ready to go right out of the box.
The Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 DANTE is four-channel digital wireless receiver with Dante networking capabilities housed in a rugged, all-metal single-rackspace chassis built to withstand the rigors of professional use and rigorously engineered to meet the needs of demanding professionals working in business and educational settings, houses of worship, or on stage.
The wide 80 MHz tuning range, intelligent switching diversity, auto-scan, equidistant tuning grid, and Link Density mode work to provide rock-solid wireless performance and massive channel counts, even in challenging RF environments. Bluetooth capabilities allow you to remotely sync components and change settings from your phone using the Smart Assist app, while Sennheiser's Control Cockpit and Wireless Systems Manager software provide computer-based control for more extensive networked setups. The EW-DX EM 4 DANTE receiver is compatible with the EW-DX bodypack and handheld transmitters and backward-compatible with EW-D components.
- The EW-DX EM4 DANTE operates in the UHF band, far away from potential Wi-Fi interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
- The UHF transmission greatly enhances range (up to 330') and the wide 80 MHz bandwidth gives you the ability to find a clean channel from 3200 available frequencies.
- Intelligent Switching Diversity offers effective protection against multipath and other anomalies that cause RF interference. The system compares incoming signals on two independent antennas and receiver circuits to ensure optimal wireless quality. The receiver switches between antennas only during header data as to never affect the audio information.
- Sennheiser's equidistant tuning grid removes the need for frequency coordination and enables you to operate up to 134 mic channels simultaneously.
- For complex systems requiring even more mics, engage the Link Density mode for up to 269 channels on the same system.
- AES-256 encryption keeps your transmissions private and safely protected from unauthorized users.
- The EW-DX EM 4 DANTE receiver offers intuitive front-panel controls and dual high-contrast OLED screens with meters for RF, battery status of the associated transmitter, and audio output that make setup a breeze.
- The auto-scan function automatically seeks out the cleanest available frequency for you.
- The receiver pairs with the transmitter via Bluetooth from up to 120' away, enabling you to quickly pair the mic directly from the stage without having to bring it close to the receiver.
- The back panel houses four balanced XLR outputs and four unbalanced 1/4" outputs for direct connection to any PA system or mixing board.
- The unit features a built-in universal power supply and comes with a kit for rackmount installation.
- With the Smart Assist app (free download available separately) installed on your Android/iOS phone/tablet, the power of Bluetooth connectivity puts full control of the EW-D EM 4 DANTE right in the palm of your hand. Use your mobile device to connect via Bluetooth for efficient operation and monitoring of your system.
- Sennheiser's Control Cockpit software for Windows allows you to view all the devices across your network, check the microphones in use, monitor battery life, troubleshoot problems, and adjust settings.
- For larger setups, Sennheiser's Wireless Systems Manager provides frequency planning and coordination and real-time monitoring of RF and audio levels. It also allows you to import frequency scans from third-party devices and conduct walk tests and receiver bandwidth scans.
- The system supports third-party interface plug-ins for easy integration into any controlled environment.
- Dante ports allow you to integrate the receiver into your Dante network and distribute the digital audio anywhere you need it in your facility.
- The rear-mounted, 1/4-wave detachable antennas can be upgraded to longer, 1/2-wave dipole antennas (available separately) for added range and reliability; you can also choose an ADA UHF Active Antenna or the AWM Wallmount Antenna as well.
- For setups with multiple receivers, the EW-D ASA Splitter allows you to split and distribute a dual-antenna signal across four receivers for clearer reception without the intermodulation problems that can occur when multiple antennas are used.
The Sennheiser EW-DX SKM is a digital handheld wireless transmitter/mic compatible with EW-DX wireless receivers. Well suited for a wide range of professional performance and presentation applications, the transmitter is lightweight and comfortable for performers and presenters to hold. Its rugged, all-metal housing is built to withstand daily use on stage. The transmitter is offered without a mic capsule included, so you can choose the one that best fits your application.
- With a remarkable 134 dB dynamic range on its input, the EW-DX SKM can handle a wide variety of sound sources, including loud vocalists and performers, all without requiring any gain adjustment. A trim control allows you to adjust the level for group performances.
- The e-Ink display helps you quickly name and identify the transmitter and allows you to see parameters, even when the unit is powered off.
- The transmitter provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries (included) or 12 hours with a BA 70 lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack (available separately). External charging ports allow for in-transmitter charging using the CHG 70N network charging dock (available separately).
- Bluetooth allows you to quickly pair the transmitter and receiver with the press of a button at a distance up to 120'.
- The EW-DX system utilizes an equidistant tuning grid that equally spaces 3200 frequencies across its wide 80 MHz bandwidth to prevent disruptive intermodulation issues that occur when multiple transmitters operate in confined spaces.
- The system can be expanded with multiple transmitters and receivers to offer up to 134 channels in equidistant tuning grid mode, and up to 269 channels in Link Density mode.
- The EW-DX SKM offers an interchangeable capsule design that allows you to use a variety of optional dynamic and condenser mic capsules, with pickup patterns ranging from wide omnidirectional to cardioid to narrow supercardioid capsules include the MMD 835, MMD 845, MME 865, MMD 935, MMD 945, MMD 42, MM 435, MM 445, ME 9004, MD 5235, ME 5004, and Neumann KK204 to name a few.
The Sennheiser MMD 835 is a cardioid capsule. It can be used to capture audio when paired with a receiver and the SKM 100/300/500 G3/G4, SKM 2000/6000/9000, SKM D1/AVX, or SL handheld DW wireless handheld transmitters (sold separately). The capsule is easily installed, includes a metal grille, and replaces faulty or damaged capsules. The interchangeable capsule system allows users to select among capsules with differing sensitivity levels and polarity patterns.
