Sony DC-C1 Overview

The DC-C1 DC Coupler from Sony provides continuous power to compatible cameras via USB PD, allowing for extended hours of operation. The coupler has a built-in 5.2' cable and NP-FW50 type coupler. It also includes a plug-in adapter plate to fit the battery slot of cameras that use NP-FZ100 batteries.

To prevent accidental disconnection, a separately available USB-C connector with a locking screw can be used, or the cable can be supported through the anchor loop.

  • Requires a separately available USB PD compatible power supply that can provide 65W or higher output, with a USB-C cable that can support 5A or higher current.

Works but poor cable placement

I'm glad Sony has an official solution for this. My camera doesn't get as hot while using it and I don't have to worry about battery swelling. My only complaint is the cable pushes against the battery door. This appears to be due to the cable not lining up properly with the cable hole in the battery door.

Spend over $100 on a dummy battery so I can use my A7R5 for long form video and you would expect them to include the power adapter 65W ONLY, I'll say that again. This adapter will ONLY WORK WITH A 65-WATT POWER ADAPTER. NOT INCLUDED. Why wouldn't Sony want a Sony adapter? I don't know, but it is a disappointment and a HASSLE to find a compatible adapter. But they do not!
