Character and Depth
By replacing select lens elements and using a dedicated coating, NiSi has given these "tuned" lenses a dreamy look reminiscent of the golden age of classic films.
Fast T1.9/2.4 Apertures
The 14mm has a maximum aperture of T2.4, while the rest of the lenses in this set open up to T1.9.
Cine-Style Design
Each lens features 10 aperture blades, micro-contrast control, and low chromatic aberration without distortion.
All lenses share an 80mm front outside diameter with minimal focus breathing.
A consistent size and weight enable you to quickly switch out lenses without spending time rebalancing your rig.
The focus ring is capable of rotating 300° for intuitive control. Markings on the lens are fluorescent and in both feet and meters.
Industry-standard 0.8 MOD focus and aperture rings are for use with lens control systems.
Rear filter threads are on all lenses except the 14mm lens.

We wanted to love these lenses. They are great in so many ways: the build, weight, ease of use, design, it's all good. If we mostly shot at T5.6 or smaller, we would love these lenses. But we often need to shoot wide open, and when wide open these are very difficult to focus, and the image becomes very soft. We understand these are intended to emulate "vintage" lenses, but we shot these side by side with some vintage lenses from Contax, Mamiya, etc, and at comparable wide apertures, the Athenas were the softest and least attractive. Even at T2.8, we could not accurately focus them, and the image is just too degraded. This might work for you, but it did not for us. We are going to look instead at the "normal" Athenas.
