Works! and the noise isn't bad

The thing I liked most about this, which wasn't clear from the product text, is that it is able to be "on" without the fan running. there are three "on" settings Zero, 1, and 2. on the Zero setting, the LED screen goes on and the THERMOMETER !!! turns on. It tells you how many degrees (only in Celsius.. Americans, remember our bodies are 37C) the camera is running. So I waited till it passed 35C and pressed the button once and it went from level ZERO to level ONE and the fan kept the temp from rising. To get it to go DOWN I needed to go to level 2. It stayed in the mid 30s. I was NOT using the on-camera mic, but was using a mic on the hot shoe and the sound was barely noticeable over the headphones, although I was in a noisy-background situation, I'll admit. Also B&H has a bigger cooler-looking fan for this camera too, but you need to buy the compatible frame it seemed to me, to screw it into.

Save your money and get the 001. The fan fits nicely, but running on high only lasted less than one hour. I don't know for sure because I only realized it went dead when my XH2 overheated, but it was before I finished my portrait session.
