TP-Link EAP115 Reviews

Update to Previous Review

I wrote a previous review for this same bridge kit earlier, but my house was almost directly struck by lightning, so I had to get a second kit. The warranty does cover lightning strikes, but only if you ground the unit, which I neglected to do. Only the Main AP died, so I am now using a new Main AP and the old Client AP which required me to install the Omada app. The app is very simple and easy to use, and the kit's instructions walk you through setting things up. I should have used the app the first time I set up the kit, but it's already configured to just work, so I didn't worry about it at that time. The app lets you check the link signal strength and speed which really helps when I'm in the woods clearing underbrush that grows up in the line of sight between units. So while I would have preferred for the warranty to replace my first kit, the onus was on me to ground the thing, and since I failed to do that, I can't be mad at TP Link. Getting back up and running with a new grounded Main AP without having to mess with the Client AP was enough to keep me happy.
