The 20/20BAS 8" 250W 2-Way Active Nearfield Monitor Speaker (Single) from Event takes many elements of the popular 20/20bas speaker from the mid-1990s and adds modern technologies to provide even more clarity and definition. The new 20/20BAS retains many of the original design elements, including the cabinet volume, the front bass port, the 8" mineral-impregnated polypropylene woofer, and the 1" silk dome tweeter to provide realistic audio with a wide frequency response. The laminated and internally-dampened MDF cabinet has improved construction and bracing to enhance audio characteristics and increase dynamics.
The Class-A/B biamplified design has also been revolutionized in order to provide a strong audio experience, as well as excellent efficiency and reliability. It offers a peak power of 250W with exceptionally low distortion, delivering more than double the power of the original 20/20bas with less than half the distortion. Ideas and technologies from Event's flagship Opal speaker have been included in the 20/20BAS to achieve high-quality performance with high output, wide dynamics, and low distortion.
Other features of the 20/20BAS include a balanced XLR input connector, protection circuitry for current limiting and thermal cutoff to ensure smooth, reliable operation. The speaker has a selectable voltage for international use. It is also magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors and other electronic devices.
