I have a Sony A7IV. When shooting HD video, the camera will operate until the battery is exhausted. When shooting in 4K, after about 20 or 25 minutes, the camera overheats and shuts down. If I snap on the CU01, the camera will run until the battery is exhausted. This is a much cheaper solution to the overheating problem than buying a dedicated video camera. I didn't get the optional battery. I power the CU01 with a 10000mAh Anker Zolo USB power bank which should provide several hours of use.
