I originally gave this a 4-star review after I bought a better usb-c cable. Now, after a few days, I am changing it to 1-star because the device simply isn't reliable (and I returned it: thank you BH!). I had my laptop on the table when someone hit a chair against the table, not so hard, but hard enough to annoy the SSD. I tried different cables and dongles. The SSD would not survive the smallest vagary of life. When it was purchased to attach to an iPhone for ProRes video, its instability on a laptop on a table meant it would never work for the work I intended, so I sent it back. I replaced it with the Lexar 2TB Professional Go Portable SSD w/Hub. A bit more expensive but it solved the problem.
