The Parabolix 40 Parabolic Reflector is a workhorse light modifier that can handle nearly every task with a strong specular punch for beauty shots, while providing large and even coverage for fashion shoots. When used in a defocused/flooded position, this reflector provides full body coverage. This "all-around" mid-size, 16-sided deep reflector features a soft silver interior and is an excellent choice for travel or smaller studios.
The 40" reflector comes with the new fast-latching speedring system, making setup and breakdown easy. Optional grids, diffusion, scrims, and flags are available separately. Light collimates (focuses) at Position 1 on the Focus Rod.
NOTE: The reflector is suitable for all Cage Mount strobe adapters.
The core of the Parabolix reflector lighting system is the Focus Mount PRO. This universal, standalone mount allows you to control the position of your lamp inside the reflector and lets you customize the quality of the light. This allows you to either focus or flood the beam and fine-tune the contrast of the light, giving you a wide range of lighting qualities that you can control.
The Focus Mount PRO fits all Parabolix parabolic reflectors, giving you total control over the focus and quality of the light from each reflector size. And with the appropriate strobe adapter, it will support any brand of flash head or monolight. The Focus Mount PRO mounts onto both a standard 5/8" Baby pin stand (C-Stand) and onto a 1-1/8" Junior pin stand socket using the included Pro mounting pin. The stand is rated for lights up to 500W.

The Universal Monolight Adapter from Parabolix is an adjustable bracket that mounts almost any brand and size of strobe or lamp, even fixtures weighing over 6 lb, onto the Light-Focusing Mount. Made from machined anodized aluminum for maximum strength and support, it is recommended for heavier and larger mono-light strobes, such as the Profoto B- and D- Series, Broncolor Siros, Joker 400 and 800, and most LED lights.
The ends of the mount feature a male 5/8" pin to a female 5/8" receiver. The minimum clearance required for the adapter is 10.5" deep, 8" tall, and the minimum clearance required is 7" deep, 3.5" tall.
