The Parabolix 65 Parabolic Reflector can provide the widest amount of light coverage and spread in the Parabolix reflector line. Although it is designed as a soft light, it still provides an incredible amount of punch and contrast when fully focused - like a giant beauty dish. It creates a large and even beauty light that covers the entire body, excellent for full body and group shots, e-commerce, lookbooks, and fashion. Because of its large size, this reflector is recommended for studios with at least 11' ceiling height.
At 34" deep, it gives smooth wrap and falloff, beautiful skin transitions, and rich contrast. This 16-sided deep reflector features a soft silver interior and is an excellent choice for larger studios. The extra-large 55" reflector comes with the new fast-latching speedring system, making setup and breakdown easy. Optional grids, diffusion, scrims, and flags are available separately. Light collimates (focuses) at Position 5 on the Focus Rod.
NOTE: The reflector is suitable for all Cage Mount strobe adapters.
Serving as the core of the Parabolix reflector system, the Focus Mount PRO XL is a universal, standalone mount allows you control the position of your lamp inside the reflector and lets you customize the quality of the light. This allows you to either focus or flood the beam and fine-tune the contrast of the light, giving you a wide range of lighting qualities that you can control. The mount is rated for lights up to 500W.
The Focus Mount PRO XL fits all Parabolix parabolic reflectors, and its extra-long length was specifically designed to accommodate the 65" reflector. It gives you total control over the focus and quality of the light from each reflector size. When using the appropriate strobe adapter this mount also supports any brand of flash head or monolight.
Mount the Focus Mount PRO XL onto both a standard 5/8" Baby pin stand (C-Stand) and onto a 1-1/8" Junior pin stand socket using the included Pro mounting pin. The system also includes a counterweight end cap with a carabiner that allows you to hang an optional counterweight.
