Great bag but absolutely horrible handle!

I bought this bag a little more than a year and a half ago. I wrote a review on it then. Most of that review still stands. The bag portion itself is very good. I have used it on a couple of flying trips as well as a couple of driving trips. But this is a follow-up review. While the bag portion is very good, the wheels could use some sort of locking mechanism, at least on one of the four. This bag can roll away VERY easily. It even rolled off the London Underground train onto the platform while I was on a trip a couple of months ago. You really have to keep a constant eye on it. While this is a bit of an issue, the much bigger issue it the telescoping handle. It is VERY cheaply made. And today, the unthinkable happened... It broke at the very top where the top of the handle is and where you squeeze the button to raise or lower the handle. I’ve only had this bag for 18 months or so. This should not have happened. I’m going to write to Think Tank and let them know how dissatisfied I am. I may write a third review based on their reply. But, for now, I say “buyer beware”...

Outstanding travel for camera gear

This will be a new addition to my traveling camera gear set up. I'm super excited to take it to Africa with me. It will meet my needs for a small planes that sometimes have restrictions that are unforeseen. I am super excited about taking it with me. It needs all my photo Safari needs.

will this be accepted as an airline carry on bag?

The acceptable dimensions for carry on for many airlines (including Delta, American and United) are 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm), including handles and wheels (that stick out from the main frame). Some airlines have larger dimensions (Frontier, Southwest, Spirit). The specs for this bag state 16 x 16 x 10.5" / 40.6 x 40.6 x 26.7 cm. So theoretically this bag is two inches wider than the acceptable 14" for most airlines. My experience is they never check the dimensions - just eyeball the bag. But I'd hate for that one in a million chance that someone stops me and makes me check the bag.

The Think Tank Photo Airport Navigator V2 (Black, 22L) will fit a full-frame Sony with a Sony 70-200 f/2.8 lens and the AD400 and the AD200. It will not fit other accessories, including a reflector. And it will be a tight fit.
