Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC Overview

Based on the RDNA 4 architecture and designed to handle the demands of gaming at high frame rates, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC Graphics Card provides an immersive gaming experience with your PC games. The GPU features 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 256-bit memory interface, offering improved performance and power efficiency over the previous RDNA-based generation.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs, such as DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1. DisplayPort 2.1 technology with UHBR 13.5 offers up to 54 Gb/s of display link bandwidth and enables high-refresh 4K (up to 480 Hz) or 8K (up to 165 Hz) gaming on next-gen displays. HDMI 2.1 supports up to 48 Gb/s bandwidth and a range of higher resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K @ 60 fps, 4K @ 120 fps, and even up to 10K.

For cooling, Gigabyte implemented the WINDFORCE cooling system. The cooling system features three Hawk alternate spinning fans, composite copper heat pipes, thermal conductive gel, a large copper plate, and screen cooling, which together provide high efficiency heat dissipation. It also has RGB lighting, which has customizable color options and a variety of lighting effects. You can also use it to synchronize with other devices. The GPU has a power armor design, complete with a sliding side plate.

RDNA 4 Architecture
AMD RDNA 4 architecture pushes the boundaries with advanced AMD RDNA 4 compute units, featuring a huge generational leap in performance and efficiency per CU, 3rd generation raytracing accelerators for a massive leap in performance when enabling raytracing in supported titles, and 2nd generation AI accelerators that provide the neural compute horsepower you need for data inference and AI computation.
WINDFORCE Cooling System
The WINDFORCE cooling system delivers optimal thermal performance through a combination of cutting-edge technologies. It features server-grade thermal conductive gel, innovative Hawk fans with alternate spinning, composite copper heat pipes, a large copper plate, 3D active fans, and screen cooling.
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) Upgrade
AMD FSR 4 delivers a substantial image quality improvement over AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling, now with an ML-based algorithm helping to improve temporal stability, better preserve detail, and reduce ghosting. With support for over 30 games at launch, AMD FSR 4 can deliver high-quality boosted frames even under the most demanding workflows, such as 4K gaming with max raytracing settings.
AMD Radiance Display Engine
AMD Radiance Display Engine supports the latest DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b connections, enabling ultra-high resolutions and refresh rates up to 8K at 144 Hz, with 12-bit HDR and full REC2020 Color Space for color accuracy. Paired with AMD FreeSync technology, gamers can enjoy tear-free, stutter-free gaming experiences on over 4000 compatible displays, including upcoming 4K at 240 Hz and 8K at 144 Hz DisplayPort 2.1 monitors.
AMD HYPR-RX
Gamers can instantly improve their experience by activating AMD HYPR-RX and the suite of features within AMD Software, including AMD Radeon Super Resolution, AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, AMD Radeon Anti-Lag, and AMD Radeon Boost. These features can all be tailored to your hardware and preferences within AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition to drive increased FPS, responsiveness, and efficiency.
Dual BIOS
The factory default setting is Performance mode, which provides gamers with optimal performance. Switching to Silent mode allows for a quieter experience.
RGB Lighting
With 16.7 million color options and numerous lighting effects, you can customize your RGB lighting and sync with other devices in GIGABYTE CONTROL CENTER.
Sliding Side Plate
Featuring a power armor design with a sliding side plate, this GPU allows you to customize your build to match your unique style.

Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC Reviews

Powerful, compact, and silent

Using it in a pair with Ryzen 7 5700x in a mini ITX case (NZXT H1v2), powered by Corsair PSU 750W Kept all GPU setting without adjustments, cards is powerful and surprisingly silent. So far no hardware or driver issues. The only drawback is that I have little to less time to play video games 😭

Overall a good card

I originally purchased the XFX RGB model and it didn't perform as well as I had hoped. It also had the loudest coil whine I have heard personally so I returned it. If you like the aesthetics on the Gigabyte Gaming OC it is probably the one you want (all things considered). With my CC discount it was less than 100 dollars over MSRP and I think the performance is actually better than the XFX at default settings. It is also much smaller and quieter in terms of coil whine.  There is a problem with Gigabyte command center and this card and you will need it to change the LED color. For some reason when you install GCC there is a conflict with AMD Adrenaline where some settings change in Adrenaline and the GPU fans ramp up to 100% during gameplay for no reason when set to auto in GCC. The thing sounds like a hair dryer on full blast. You can create a custom fan curve or you can remove the crazy fan curve by resetting Adrenaline to factory settings after installing GCC. Either solution seems to fix it. Not sure what is going on there but Gigabyte needs to fix it.
