With support for both dynamic and electret-condenser microphones, the Studio Technologies Model 372A offers compatibility with a wide range of broadcast and gaming headsets. Users can connect via the 5-pin female XLR headset connector or the 3.5mm TRRS jack, making the unit equally suited for professional-grade headsets or consumer earbuds. Its one talk/two listen configuration is especially effective in real-world production, where crew members primarily monitor producer or director instructions while having access to a secondary program or “show audio” channel.
Dante Integration and Flexibility
Operating over standard Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), the Model 372A integrates seamlessly into Dante networks. It can be deployed as part of a party-line intercom system using the Studio Technologies Model 5422 Dante Intercom Audio Engine, connected point-to-point, or integrated with Dante-compatible matrix intercoms. Each beltpack provides one transmit and two receive channels with 24-bit / 48 kHz audio, AES67 support, and compatibility with Dante Domain Manager (DDM). STcontroller software allows fine-tuned configuration, including microphone gain, talk button behavior, sidetone, and headphone routing.
User-Centered Design
The talk push-button can be set to Push-to-Talk, Latching, or Tap-to-Latch modes, while two recessed rotary controls let users easily adjust headphone levels. Call signal reception is supported, with the talk button’s LED flashing and lighting when a 20 kHz in-band call signal is detected, ensuring clear communication and cueing. The integrated pneumatic shockmount, low-noise preamp, compressor, and DAC/ADC design deliver pro-grade audio performance with low distortion, high headroom, and excellent off-axis rejection.
Rugged and Reliable
Built from lightweight aluminum with a stainless steel belt clip, the Model 372A is designed for durability in demanding environments. Its etherCON RJ45 connector ensures a secure, locking Ethernet connection, while firmware updates via USB or network keep the unit future-ready. The beltpack's compact footprint, moderate price, and compatibility with a broad range of headsets make it an efficient, scalable solution for productions of any size.
