Studio Technologies M374A Overview

The Model 374A Four-Channel Dante Intercom Beltpack from Studio Technologies provides a full feature set for a wide range of broadcast needs. Flexibility is crucial for broadcast applications, which is why the Model 374A has four independent talk and listen channels that are configurable via Dante audio-over-Ethernet and STController. The back-panel 5-pin XLR female connector supports an array of headsets—mono or stereo—and dynamic or electret microphones. Two separate remote control inputs are available for intercom use, while the unit also supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

High-Resolution Audio Quality
Beginning with the microphone input stage, the built-in microphone preamp also includes a voltage-controlled-amplifier (VCA) compressor that dynamically minimizes the chances of signal overloads. Whether using a dynamic or electret microphone headset, the output of the microphone signal is routed to the analog-to-digital (ADC) converter that supports a sample rate of 48 kHz at 24-bit bit depth.

Moving towards the digital domain, audio input signals arrive via four Dante receiver channels. Also supporting a sample rate of 48 kHz and a bit depth of up to 24, the Dante digital domain can control channel routing, headphone level control, and sidetone features.

Call Function
The built-in call function allows you to send and receive channel-specific visual cues. Using a 20 kHz tone and push-button number four, a visual cue can be sent to three of the available channels.
Configuration Flexibility
Using the STcontoller application, the onboard buttons can each be configured to serve various functions. Whether you need to control microphone power and preamp gain, sidetone audio operation, talk button operation, or headphone monitoring, each button has full flexibility for different broadcast needs.
Ethernet Data and PoE
The Model 347A connects to an Ethernet network using a standard 100 Mb/s twisted-pair Ethernet interface. No external power adapters are required, thanks to the Power-over-Ethernet protocol via the RJ45 connection. Because of this, both data and power are handled via a single Ethernet cable.
Firmware Updating
The Model 347A's firmware can be updated via the Dante interface.
