Designed for photographers and videographers who want to back up media and manage drives in the field, the Professional Workflow Go Docking Station from Lexar is a 2-bay portable docking station that may be customized with a variety of Lexar Professional Workflow peripherals, including their Dual-Slot UHS-II SD Card Reader, UHS-II SD/microSD Card Reader, CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card Reader, CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card Reader, and Portable SSD. Each bay operates at 10 Gb/s and there are also two 10 Gb/s USB-C ports for backing up from your smartphone. Power is provided by an included 5000mAh battery that is detachable and lasts for up to 4.5 hours. Compatible with Windows 10/11, macOS 11 or later, and phones with USB-C, the Professional Workflow Go has a durable aluminum body that provides heat dissipation and scratch resistance. Files may be managed using your phone, computer, or the Lexar app. Included is a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter, while additional Workflow Go batteries are sold separately.

How difficult would it have been to include a bit of electronics on the enclosure to transfer local usb-c to local usb-c (with the copy signal triggered from the phone/tablet), but does'nt need the copy to go through the connected device? Requires a full charge or a connected power supply already - so beats the purpose of having invested big bucks on it. Still just happy to shave off some carry-on weight for now. Hopefully a new enclosure with built-in transfer circuitry comes soon! The holy grail of backup on the go continues for now!...

After 45 minutes on the phone with Lexar Help personnel we figured out how to copy individual files from an SD card to the hard drive if you don't want to continually back up the whole card using an Android phone. It is apparently easier to do that with an Apple phone as is shown in videos on the web.

Do you have to use Lexar's SSD drives or can you plug your own SSD into the USB-C port?

It works fine with the three different USB SSDs I tried it with. It doesn't work with Thunderbolt-based drives, because they draw too much power. Which is a shame because my Sandisk G40 plugs right into one of the slots

Does this work with the Angelbird 2TB SSD2GO PKT USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Portable SSD?

I just purchased the Lexar Docking Station and CFe B card reader. I have several SSDs and the USB models (Sandisk & Crucial) all worked fine, plugged into the USB-C port on the Dock. The two Thunderbolt SSDs did not. They drew too much power (that was the message I got from the app on my iPhone). So you don't NEED to use the Lexar SSD.

Does this only have cf express card readers for one of the two internal bays or will they have an sd reader as well?

In addition to the CFexpress (A & B), there is a Dual-slot SSD card reader and Dual slot SSD/Micro SSD card reader.

The Lexar Professional Workflow Go Docking Station, which includes a 2TB SSD and a CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card Reader (B&H # LEPWRKFLWGB1), is intended for use with devices that feature USB Type-C connectivity. While you can use an iPhone with a Lightning connection by employing an adapter, I strongly recommend against this option. The speeds will be limited to USB 2.0 (480 Mbps), which is frustratingly slow.
