Will this do well at a focal length of 600mm ...
Will this do well at a focal length of 600mm without stabilisation? I have the sigma 100-400 cropped in on apsc it will reach 600mm. It has oss, but will that be enough for a sharp photo or do I need a body with IBIS? I'm stuck between the a6400 and a6500 for the IBIS reason.
How well a lens does without IBIS is unfortunately quite subjective, due to the fact that IBIS isn't a foolproof way of ensuring sharp photos. IBIS mainly allows you to shoot up to 5-stops slower but issues such as motion blur and rolling shutter can still distort or soften images. To answer your question, the Sony A6400 can do incredibly well with a 600mm lens (or longer) but to avoid the aforementioned problems, we recommend shooting at higher shutter speeds (1/1000th or faster) or to follow the focal length rule (a minimum of 1/focal length as shutter speed) for closer-to-optimal results.

Does the 18-135mm lens that it comes with as part of this package have OSS (in other words, is it like, say, the 18-105mm f4 G OSS lens)?
Hello Daniel, The lens has OSS. Just for clarification, this lens is a 3.5-5.6 aperture, not an f4. I hope this helps
