TP-Link EAP723 Overview

With its slim design, the Omada EAP723 BE5000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Access Point from TP-Link blends in with most environments while delivering fast and reliable coverage. It features a total throughput of up to 5012 Mb/s across the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands, supporting over 250 concurrent clients with up to 1500 square foot coverage.

Wi-Fi 7 technology provides efficient and reliable connectivity with compatible devices. Connecting the 2.5G Ethernet uplink port to a PoE compatible device allows you to transfer both power and data to the access point using a single cable. Or you can add a separately purchased power adapter. Your wireless network is protected with enterprise-class security, and you can manage it from almost anywhere using the Omada cloud platform.

Wi-Fi 7
By taking advantage of the 240 Hz bandwidth channels with a 4K-QAM and multi-RU support, Wi-Fi 7 delivers 20% better efficiency than Wi-Fi 6 with lower latency.
Omada Mesh Technology
Create a mesh network for seamless roaming by using additional Omada Mesh compatible devices to expand coverage.
Omada SDN Integration
The Omada Software Defined Networking (SDN) platform integrates network devices including access points, switches, and routers to provide 100% centralized cloud management and create a highly scalable network that's controlled from a single interface.
Boosted Network Security
Separate access privileges with support for up to 16 SSIDs. Configure a custom SMS portal to help ensure only authorized users have access. Your wireless network is protected by WPA3 encryption. The Rogue AP Detection feature helps to mitigate rogue APs to protect your business from security holes and other threats.

I have two of these hooked up to my router with PoE. Works great, especially with an Omada Controller running for optimization and control.

Free MLO upgrade

- Does not come with a power adapter, so you either need a PoE switch/injector that can supply 0.6A at 42.5–57V, or a center-positive 12V 1.5A DC adapter (barrel with OD 0.215, ID 0.100). This is a shame because the older EAP225 came with a free PoE injector. - Hardware Version is inconsistent: the box and sticker say 1.6, but the web interface says 1.0. When installing firmware, you can use either version because they're actually the same file. Auto-updating will use 1.0. - Firmware version 1.2.2 from 2025-04-02 added MLO, which was previously only available on the more expensive EAP772, EAP773, and EAP783. This was a very pleasant surprise. The product pages have not yet been updated to reflect this new feature. - Metal body, unlike the plastic EAP225, but it also gets much warmer (about 110°F). - I like that it has a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.
