From adventures like camping or caving to walking the dog or dealing with a power outage, this Apex Headlamp from Princeton Tec provides hands-free light for up to 12 hours on a fresh set of batteries. Maximum output is 650 lumens, with a tightly focused spot beam, a wide flood beam, and a strobe. Push-button switches on the underside of the light allow for easy control.
The Apex uses a separate battery pack holding four AA cells. Along with a heat sink in the lamp's housing, the Apex is equipped with circuitry that steps down the output level if the light exceeds its preset safety limit.
