Tilta Mirage Pro Matte Box Overview

Create a matte box configuration that best suits your creative vision with the Mirage Pro Matte Box VND Kit from Tilta. This matte box kit includes a 114mm variable ND filter with 1 to 7 stops of light reduction. Four clamp-on adapters provide compatibility with 95, 110, 114, and 132mm lens diameters. A rubber donut kit helps make the box compatible with non-standard front diameters. You have the option of attaching the matte box directly to your rod-mounted rig with the 15mm LWS rod mounting bracket or creating a swing-away configuration with the included adapter.

Incorporate up to three standard 4 x 5.65" filters for your desired aesthetic. A universal motor adapter integrates with the rod bracket for compatibility with the Nano 2 motor for remote ND control. The matte box's lightweight design makes it compatible with gimbal and drone rigs. Adjust the included top flag and install the carbon fiber hood to prevent ghosting or lens flaring.

This matte box is not bad but beware that the hood will not clear 15mm rods if they protrude past the front of the hood. The hood easily clears 19mm rods.

I got this matte box so I could have drop in filter trays, which my other one doesn't. I am very happy with this product- it's comparable to competitors that are double, or much more, in price. With three trays, one can run the VND in one, an I.R. ND in another (so as to minimize colour shift) , and a mist filter in the third. My only gripe is there are no side flags included, which seems like an omission, because this kit comes with a case Filled with useful stuff other manufacturers would charge on top for. All said- great quality, highly recommended!

The Tilta Mirage Pro Matte Box VND Kit is only designed to work with 4 x 5.65-inch filter trays. 4x4 filters are not supported.

It will work when using the support that attaches to 15mm rods and with the Tilta rubber donut kit that can support lenses with Front Diameters between 80mm-95mm, 95mm-114mm, and 114mm-136mm. Sigma outside diameter is 119.4mm.
