The 4188 CORE+ Cardioid Microphone Boom from DPA Microphones is a replacement microphone boom for the 4188 headset or earset (sold separately). The CORE+ technology in the 4188 delivers a wide dynamic range and almost completely neutralizes distortion at SPLs up to 133 dB, helping to provide clean, crisp, and natural sonic performance, even on loud stages. The adjustable mic boom can be worn on either the right or left side, depending on preference. This version of the mic features a long 120mm boom length, the standard choice for most users.

Normal Headroom for Standard Speech
The 4188 CORE+ features a sensitive 5.4mm electret-condenser capsule designed for standard speech and vocal applications at levels up to 134 dB SPL RMS and 137 dB SPL peak before producing < 1% distortion. The mic can even handle up to 144 dB SPL with only 10% distortion, making it well suited to a variety of presenters and performers.
More Range, Less Distortion
Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The mic's directional cardioid pickup pattern provides excellent off-axis rejection in high-SPL situations. It efficiently suppresses distant sound sources making it perfect for demanding live performance environments where background noise and feedback are concerns. In high-SPL events, or when feedback is a concern, the 4188 will tackle these challenges with ease.
