A single-lens solution for most shooting situations, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 from OM SYSTEM is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and covers a huge 24-400mm equivalent focal length range. Despite its long reach, the lens is also characterized by its portable form factor, close 8.7" minimum focusing distance, and sophisticated optical design, which includes a variety of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements to produce well-corrected imagery. A ZERO coating has also been applied to help reduce lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, this lens utilizes a Movie & Stills Compatible AF system to achieve smooth, fast, and near-silent focusing performance to benefit both photo and movie applications.

OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6... Reviews
12-200 mm zoom
perfect lens for me. The 12-200 zoom means I can leave my other lenses at home and stil get the picture I want
Surprisingly good
This lens was purchased as a replacement for my Olympus 12-100mm lens after I was involuntarily relieved of it, and the attached E-M1 mkIII body, while traveling abroad. The excellent 12-100mm lens was my favorite general-purpose zoom, with great optical performance and build quality. Reviews of the 12-200mm lens were not as uniformly positive, but the extra reach while being slightly smaller and lighter were enticing. The fact that it had no IS in the lens itself made meant that there was no penalty in using my Lumix DC-G9 body. The day after receiving the lens, I ran a test in which an exposure was made at each marked focal length and at each marked aperture to f/16 (in addition to wide open). Unlike the 12-100mm lens, with a constant f/4 maximum aperture, the maximum aperture on the 12-200mm model varies by focal length, ranging from f/3.5 at 12mm to f/6.3 at 200mm. In terms of handling, I find the 12-200mm to be much more compatible with the G9 than the 12-100mm in terms of both finish and weight, although the zoom action is not as uniformly smooth. There is no question that the 12-100mm is better built, but I anticipate no problems with the 12-200mm under normal usage. My test exposures were made on a tripod, with careful center focusing, IBIS disabled, and a delayed shutter release at base ISO. There was a UV filter attached to the lens. The RAW files received basic processing, tweaking the exposure and applying unsharp mask sharpening. The attached photos were made at the focal length extremes: 12mm (24mm equivalent) at f/5.6, and 200mm (400mm equivalent) at f/8. Two images are provided at each focal length: a full frame view reduced to 1600x1200 pixels, and a 100% crop of 1600x1200 pixels at an extreme corner. I was very pleasantly surprised by the results and look forward to many years of successful use.
