Multiple Creative Modes
The MAX supports multiple modes for creative video and photos, such as PowerPano mode, which can take 270° still photos without distortion. TimeWarp mode allows you to record in standard HERO mode with a variable speed function; you can slow down and then speed up your footage in real time with one tap.
HyperSmooth and Leveling
There are four lens sizes to choose from for just the right angle: Narrow, Linear, Wide, and Max SuperView for those extremely wide shots. HyperSmooth provides smooth stabilization for your action shots, featuring horizon leveling within the camera for super-steady footage in both HERO or 360 modes.
Surround Audio
To complement the camera's spherical video, spherical audio is also recorded. Using six microphones, you can record sounds from all directions, creating a totally immersive 360° surround-sound video playback experience.
Quik App and Streaming
  • Similar to its cousins, the HERO7 and HERO8 Black, the MAX supports live streaming to social media in 1080p.
  • In the Quik app, use Reframe to transform your mind-bending 360 footage into traditional, easy-to-watch-and-share videos that blow your audience away. You can also experiment with countless views, instantly create cinematic transitions, and more.
  • AI-Powered Object Tracking: Pick a subject and use AI to keep the object in view.
  • Keyframing: Set your view; adjust the digital lens settings to dial in.
  • CameraFx: Add dynamic camera movements like backflips, barrel rolls, etc.
  • Automatic Transitions: Add and combine ReFrame modes throughout an edit; create smooth transitions between clips.
  • Single Clip Edits: Add filters, change the volume, and make color adjustments to single clips and photos.
  • New Frame Grab Tool: Create photos from video stills.
Battery Life and Recording
The MAX comes with an Enduro 1600mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a curved adhesive mount, two protective lens caps, a mounting buckle, and a USB-C cable for charging. Recording on the MAX requires a minimum class 10 or UHS-1 microSD card up to 256GB in size. The MAX supports the HEVC video format, which records very small files while preserving image quality, saving you precious space on your SD card.
Waterproof and Voice Control
The MAX is waterproof to 16' to protect it during light water shoots and from splashes and rain. The camera's touchscreen provides quick and easy management, but when your hands are full, the MAX understands 14 voice commands in over ten languages and accents. Just say "GoPro, take a photo", and your MAX will use your current settings to snap a photo. It also features a USB-C output to offload your video to your computer.

GoPro MAX 360 Reviews

Can't Beat the Price

I know that all the cool kids are hating on GoPro for various reasons. Yeah, it does seem like the CEO may have lost his way. I also know that Insta360 has passed GoPro in many ways. So, I am not saying this thing blows the doors off other 360 cameras. However, I have 2 Hero 7s that I used and still use for shooting. One of my hero 7s got involved in a tumble while attached to my RC Nitro Short Course Truck. I was shocked that the camera survived as the truck was wide open doing close to 50mph and didn't land the jump as expected.  So, I know that these cameras will take a beating. I wanted a 360 camera to play with and I am pulling for the brand. So, I pulled the trigger and bought one. The camera functions well. It does get hot like people say. However, I have had this camera on a gravel ride in 90+ degree heat with minimal humidity and the camera never died on me. I did this in 360 video, warp, and also using individual cameras to find the limits. Mostly, I just wanted to see what the camera would do and wanted to play with hiding the selfie sticks, mounts, and see figure out the best way to mount the camera to something. It works really well provided that the selfie stick or mount is narrower than the camera body. It is nice because you can get a drone like shot. The 360 video is cool. I love how you can get the camera to follow the subject in post. The nice thing about the 360 is if you shoot by yourself you can always get the shot provided you have the camera running and it is close. I love how you can mount the camera on a tripod or GoPro mounts. So FINALLY I don't have to buy an adapter. If they could keep this camera at the $250 price point they would really have something to take back the market share as they continue to innovate.

I bought the GoPro MAX 360 for a couple of reasons. I think 360 images can be very creative if you’re creative. I love the new microphones because they really make videos Atmos like when you listen with headphones. I’m hoping that down the road GoPro upgrades the image sensors for higher resolution. For now it has given me all sorts of creative ideas to pursue.
