Strings of Innovation
From captivating textures and unconventional techniques to chaotic creativity and seemingly impossible articulations, Vienna Symphonic Library Synchron Duality Strings (fx) redefines the boundaries of traditional string performance. This groundbreaking collection delves into rarely or never explored methods, expanding the expressive potential of string ensembles. Recorded at Vienna Synchron Stage, Duality Strings (fx) features two acoustically isolated ensembles (a full and a small ensemble) performing simultaneously in separate rooms with different acoustics. Use these ensembles separately, or blend them together as you like, to spice things up and add definition and immediacy to your arrangements.
This 56GB Full Library comprises more than 106,524 samples. Engineers employed ten separate phase-coherent microphone configurations with surround setups and dark and bright mic setups, recorded simultaneously with every nuanced detail. Merging artistic innovation with cutting-edge sound design, this collection delivers breathtaking, otherworldly string effects—ideal for cinematic tension, abstract soundscapes, and avant-garde composition.

The Duality Principle
- Staying true to the Duality Strings concept, you can seamlessly blend the lush, ambient depth of a full ensemble with the crisp clarity of a chamber-sized group. Captured simultaneously at Vienna Synchron Stage, the larger ensemble performed in the legendary Stage A, while the smaller group played in the drier, more intimate Stage B.
- Conducted in unison, the ensembles remained perfectly synchronized, with the conductor in Stage A leading both groups via video monitors. This meticulous setup ensures flawless alignment of every musical detail.
