Sonifex DHY-04VT Overview

Designed for studios in remote locations, OB vans and trucks on the move, and emergency situations where a landline connection isn't available, the DHY-04VT Twin Automatic VoLTE 4G Telephone Hybrid (Rackmount) operates over cellular networks, delivering HD Voice quality calls via 4G. This model includes two VoLTE 4G telephone hybrids ready to be mounted in a standard 19" rack (1 RU).

By inserting SIM cards into the two rear-panel slots and connecting suitable GSM antennas, the units enable high-quality broadcast calls over cellular networks, seamlessly converting the 4G calls into four-wire audio signals for integration with a mixing console. The modules in the DHY-04VT support calls on any 4G GSM network and can automatically fall back to 3G or 2G when necessary.

What Is a Telephone Hybrid?
Telephone hybrids, also known as telephone balance units (TBUs), serve as the interface between professional audio equipment and telephone networks. They protect both your equipment and the telephone lines by accommodating varying signal levels and line conditions. By automatically canceling unwanted signals, TBUs enable clear, two-way communication over a single telephone line.
HD Voice
Call quality may fluctuate due to network conditions. While the hybrid is typically used in a fixed location-such as a stationary OB truck, antenna positioning can be adjusted for optimal signal strength. However, if the far-end caller is using a mobile phone, variations in quality and dynamic bandwidth changes may occur. Generally, HD Voice is supported on 4G and 3G networks, and while it should theoretically work on enhanced 2G networks, this is dependent on the service provider.
