Key Features
  • For M4 Pro, M4 Max, and M3 Ultra Systems
  • Thunderbolt 5 to PCIe Card Expansion
  • Supports Full-Height, Full-Length Cards
  • Supports Non-GPU Cards
Expand your compatible Mac with the power, speed, and connectivity of Thunderbolt 5 using the Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 Desktop PCIe Expansion Chassis from Sonnet. Designed for the Apple MacBook Pro and Mac mini (with M4 Pro and M4 Max), and Mac Studio (with M4 Max and M3 Ultra), the Echo II DV helps overcome a lack of available PCIe slots by providing dual PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, allowing users to simultaneously connect two full-height, full-length PCIe cards using two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two included Thunderbolt 5 cables. Each slot has its own Thunderbolt 5 controller, meaning each installed PCIe card has access to up to 6000 MB/s of bandwidth, rather than 6000 MB/s being shared between the two slots. All of this supports bandwidth-hungry, non-GPU I/O cards, such as DV I/O, NVMe SSD storage, and multiport 25Gb Ethernet adapters. Power is provided by an integrated 400W PSU with dual 75W auxiliary connectors and operations are kept cool using dual cooling fans.

Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 Desktop
This system integrates the Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 Module into a rugged aluminum housing that provides robust and secure protection. Its size and weight make the Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 Desktop easy to transport.
6000 MB/s Bandwidth to Two PCIe Cards Simultaneously
Achieve maximum performance with Thunderbolt 5 by connecting Sonnet Thunderbolt to PCIe card systems to powerful M4 Pro, M4 Max, and M3 Ultra Apple computers. Supercharge your computer's capabilities and your workflow through seamless expansion, broad PCIe card support, blazing speed, and pro-level efficiency.
Thunderbolt 5 High Speed Connectivity
Thunderbolt 5 takes external connectivity to new heights, delivering on the promise of next-level compatibility and performance. With up to 80 Gb/s of bi-directional data speed - twice as fast as Thunderbolt 4 - and up to 120 Gb/s for higher display bandwidth, you'll revolutionize your productivity. Whether you're working with advanced graphics, highly demanding 4K+ workflows, heavy data loads, or complex computing tasks, Thunderbolt 5 has the bandwidth to handle it all.
6000 MB/s PCIe Bandwidth per Thunderbolt 5 Port
Some computers - such as the latest MacBook Pro and Mac mini (with M4 Pro and M4 Max), and Mac Studio (with M4 Max and M3 Ultra) - have multiple Thunderbolt 5 ports that are supported by separate 80 Gb/s Thunderbolt buses and provide up to 6000 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth through each, providing maximum performance when connected to Sonnet Echo II DV systems.
Designed to Support Peak Thunderbolt 5 Performance from Two PCIe Cards
Among multi-slot Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion systems, Sonnet Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 products are unique. Instead of using one Thunderbolt interface for two or three slots - which dynamically allocates the PCIe bandwidth between them - Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 products include two PCIe card slots and employ one Thunderbolt interface per slot, resulting in each slot receiving Thunderbolt 5's full PCIe bandwidth. When connected to two Thunderbolt 5 ports on your computer, Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 products exploit two cards' full potential performance, which is perfect for cards with high bandwidth requirements such as DV I/O, NVMe SSD storage, and multiport 25Gb Ethernet adapters.

Does is have Space for a daughter card? Like blackmagic decklink 8k?
Asked by: Chris
The Sonnet Echo II DV Thunderbolt 5 chassis is only compatible with the Blackmagic Decklink 8K Pro G2 if you remove the daughter card. If your setup requires only SDI and no HDMI connections, then you could remove the daughter card from the Blackmagic 8K pro G2 turning it into a single width card. If you need the DeckLink 8K Pro G2 with its HDMI 2.1 / RS-422 daughter card then the Echo III, Echo SEIIIe or the new Echo SE I T5 are the available options from Sonnet. Sonnet Technologies, Inc.
