Venus Optics Laowa 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Overview

Capture wide-angle shots using a gimbal, drone, or handheld camera rig with the Laowa 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine Lens from Venus Optics. The 10mm lens can be used with ARRI LPL mount cameras sporting full-frame or VistaVision image sensors, making it compatible with the RED RAPTOR 8K VV and the ARRI ALEXA LF Open Gate cine cameras. The lens construction consists of 15 elements in 9 groups, a 14-blade aperture, and an aperture range of T2.9 to T22.

Its compact focal length and 130.3° FOV make it a superwide rectilinear non-fisheye lens. A Zero-D design consisting of low-distortion optics helps create precise framing. Close-focusing capabilities allow you to zero in on objects 4.7" away with ease. An 80mm front outside diameter and a 77mm filter thread integrate compatible lens accessories. A shim set is included for calibration, and a hard case protects and transports the lens.

This lens is super interesting and really makes any shot stand out. Great for real estate, great for getting creative, great for larger than life moments. The minimum focus distance is incredible with the fact that your subject can practically touch the lens. If you use the Tilta MB-T12 Matte box, you can actually get away with not seeing the edges of the box in the frame (if the box is on straight and level). If you ask me, get all of your lenses for standard focal length and situations and then make this your first "creative" lens. It's something special.

No, the flange of the Venus Optics Laowa 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine Prime Lens (ARRI PL) will not permit the lens to be used with adapters like the Metabones PL to RF or PL to MFTSpeedbooster 0.71x or drop-in filter adapters.
