Core SWX Powerbase EDGE SNAP Smart-Stacking Battery Pack (49Wh)

Power your camera and its accessories for a long shooting day with this Powerbase EDGE SNAP Smart-Stacking Battery Pack from Core SWX. This battery has a maximum continuous draw of 6.54A, a 49Wh capacity, and an output voltage of 14.54V, and it can be linked with other packs using strong magnets to charge multiple SNAP batteries simultaneously using a single PD Pro charge input. It can be mounted onto a camera, cage, or rig using a 1/4"-20 thread or an optional quick release plate.

Two unregulated D-tap ports on the device can power your on-camera monitor or wireless transmitter, while two 90W PD Pro USB-C PD inputs/outputs can charge everything from mobile devices to laptops, as well as charge the battery. Monitoring your battery's status is easy with the wraparound RGB LEDs that can be viewed from any angle. The Powerbase EDGE SNAP can be recharged with a separately available USB PD charger.

Linking
The hot-swappable and stackable design of the EDGE SNAP enables quick and effortless addition or removal of packs, ensuring a continuous power supply to accessories while allowing for convenient charging. Additionally, the PD Pro ports facilitate charging via USB-C PD while the magnetic feature enables parallel charging of multiple packs through a single USB-C PD charge connection, further enhancing efficiency and convenience.
Linkage Strength
Despite their lightweight design at just 14 oz, the Powerbase EDGE SNAP packs boast an impressive 9 lb of magnetic strength, making them ideal for the demands of the cinema video industry. This exceptional magnetic strength ensures that even when multiple packs are used in parallel, they stay securely in place, providing reliable power throughout your shoot.
Wraparound RGB LEDs
The LED gauge offers a clear visual indication of the remaining battery life, illuminated throughout both charge and discharge cycles. For added convenience, a status button located on the top of the pack can illuminate the LEDs to display charge status even when the pack is not in use. The LEDs are RGB-enabled, providing users the flexibility to select from four distinct colors, and they can be viewed from any angle.
PD Pro and D-Tap Ports
The two PD Pro ports offer wide-range auxiliary voltage output, from 5 to 28V, along with up to 145W output, catering to the diverse power requirements of accessories in the professional video market. Coupled with two standard 12V D-tap outputs, the EDGE SNAP offers flexibility, empowering users to power up to four accessories concurrently. Be it cameras, lights, monitors, or other indispensable equipment, the Edge Snap ensures dependable and consistent power delivery, ensuring seamless operation to keep your production running seamlessly.
Voltbridge ID
Each Powerbase EDGE SNAP pack comes equipped with an RFID chip to store accumulated battery data. Simply wave your phone near the pack to access vital stats. The Core SWX Voltbridge ID app streamlines battery fleet management effortlessly.
Optional Quick Release Plate
While SNAP packs feature one 1/4"-20 connection, the separately available EDGE SNAP quick release plate allows the packs to be mounted through a multitude of 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 anti-twist connections and 1/4"-20 threads for a wide array of mounting options.

So far, this Core SWX Powerbase Edge Snap battery is working as it should and doing what it says it does. All good. We’ll see over time how it holds up—the only reason I have it four stars is because I just got it and have only used it once.

Clever design with lots of use cases

I have been a 1st AC for over a decade and can appreciate a well designed product. I love the idea that it is a battery solution that is mountable literally anywhere and can be as robust or as compact as needed. The space saving for charging is also insane. I can put everything in my 1510 pelican case to have my monitor, wireless, and batteries all in a single case. This product has already been the hero on two jobs since I've had it where we needed a compact power source. The app integration is awesome for checking the life of the battery and for altering the LED light color. I love the positioning of the D-taps, and the option for USB-C is also very forward thinking. The magnets are strong and secure enough to be mounted on a gimbal, which was one of my first uses of it on a commercial job. I can see this being an extremely valuable system to invest in in the long run, especially if they introduce accessory plates to swap into even more use cases. I am already in love with them for their versatility, compact form factor, and overall design. These are a great investment!
