Nextorage NX-SA1PRO Reviews
stay cool
The most impressive feature is that this little box stays cool/luke warm after intensive file transferring (300GB+). I had another brand that became burning hot after just a few minutes of usage. I guess it doesn't matter whether or not the case is plastic, as it performs pretty well. Very happy with the purchase!
Great build quality, excellent speeds
I bought this to transfer large files from my Sony FX30. Offloading files from CFexpress Type A cards is through the built-in USB-C port of the FX30 is still faster than using SD cards (~500MB/s), but if you're reading this review, you probably need something even faster. This credit-card-sized Nextorage reader is plastic, yes, but well-constructed and solid with a good heat sink. I didn't notice any heat build-up during large file transfers from my OWC Atlas Pro cards, which is something I was concerned about reading reviews of some other Type-A card readers. The included USB-4 cable is a nice touch, and I'm seeing consistent read speeds of 1500+ MB/s while offloading footage to my Mac. If you're in the market for a Type-A reader and need fast transfer speeds, this Nextorage reader is a great option to consider. I'm happy with my purchase and would buy this reader again.
