StudioLogic SL88 MK2 Overview

The Studiologic SL88 MK2 is a professional 88-key MIDI controller built for players who demand an authentic piano feel, streamlined workflow, and deep integration with modern music production tools. Combining a high-quality hammer-action keybed with next-generation features like MIDI 2.0 support, DAW transport control, and a built-in USB audio interface, the SL88 MK2 is designed to be the centerpiece of your studio or stage setup.

Authentic Hammer-Action Keybed
The SL88 MK2 features the Fatar TP/110 keybed—a graded hammer-action mechanism designed to provide a balanced and expressive playing experience. With adjustable velocity response and aftertouch, it delivers realistic dynamics for piano players and synth performers alike.
MIDI 2.0 Compatible
With full MIDI 2.0 compatibility, the SL88 MK2 offers higher-resolution control and smoother performance across velocity, pitch, and modulation data. It's built to take full advantage of the next generation of MIDI instruments and software. A pair of programmable expression sticks offers exciting options for nuanced performances.
Seamless Software Integration with SL Link
The SL88 MK2 pairs tightly with Numa Player 2, Studiologic's powerful, free software instrument. Through SL Link, the keyboard directly controls parameters and presets inside Numa Player with minimal setup, offering a fast, fluid experience ideal for live performance and production.
USB Audio Interface Onboard
A built-in USB audio interface adds flexibility for mobile or desktop setups. With dual audio outputs and a headphone jack, you can route high-quality audio from your computer directly through the keyboard—no separate interface required.
DAW Control at Your Fingertips
Integrated DAW transport controls let you manage playback, record, and navigation functions without leaving the keys. It's a workflow-focused design that keeps you in the creative zone.

StudioLogic SL88 MK2 Reviews

Nice MIDI controller!

After using a Yamaha Motif ES8 for nearly 20 years, I wanted something lighter-weight, but still with a good keyboard feel. I barely ever used the Motif built-in sounds any more, so a simple MIDI controller seemed like the way to go. This SL88 has a good, solid feel, both the keybed and the chassis. The weighted key action feels better than some current major-brand keyboards that cost way more. Four out of five stars because some of the physical controls (joysticks, on/off switch) could feel more solid; and because I think it would be that much better with a dedicated power connector besides going through USB. (I.e., have both a USB port and a separate power port.)
