DigiTech SDRUM Overview

Create drum patterns using natural, tried-and-true techniques employed by guitarists for decades with the SDrum from DigiTech, a pedal that allows you to create rhythms by strumming and scratching the strings of an electric guitar or bass. With innovative BeatScratch tech onboard, you can produce and refine realistic-sounding patterns for accompaniment.

The SDrum is ideal both as a performance aid and as a compositional tool, allowing guitarists to employ the same methods they use to communicate pattern ideas to drummers. When further refinement or control is needed, onboard Kick and Snare pads let you perform your patterns more directly. Plenty of onboard controls let you adjust time signature (3/4 or 4/4), swing, embellishment level, tempo (tap, sync, or variable), and more. You can select between 5 kits, 12 hat/ride styles, and 3 footswitchable song parts for each of the 36 songs you can store. You also get a plethora of connections including mono 1/4" I/O, a stereo 1/4" mix output, a dedicated input for the FS3X footswitch, a 3.5mm JamSync output for syncing with the JamMan looper, and a USB port. The SDrum includes a power adapter.

BeatScratch Technology
BeatScratch Technology lets you teach the SDrum a drum pattern by strumming your strings. By simply scratching the upper and lower strings of an electric guitar, electric bass, or acoustic guitar (with pickups), you can create snare and kick-drum patterns. This allows guitar players to create rhythm patterns using the same techniques they commonly use to explain a beat to a drummer.
Groove/Kit Knob
Select between 5 different kits, 3 different embellishment levels (simple to busy), and various groove styles and time signatures to customize the drumbeats.

  • 5 kits to choose from: E-Pop, Brush, Percussion, Power, and Clean
  • Alternative snare and kick sounds for each kit
  • 3/4 or 4/4 time signatures with selectable Straight or Swing modes
Learns up to 3 Different Song Parts
SDrum can learn 3 parts per song with 3 different intensities for realistic transitions—from verse, to chorus, to bridge, etc. This pedal can store up to 36 songs total. You can switch between parts during playback using the footswitch.
