Selens FL115A Reviews
Excellent Quick Release Bracket, best I could find
TL;dr: Great monitor quick release bracket, I’m using it with an Ergotron arm. You may want to cut a few rungs off the spring to help with the stiffness. Does not support 75x75 vesa patterns. This is an excellent quick release monitor bracket. I recently bought a new monitor arm and was looking for an alternative to a built-in quick release that I had on my old Kanto monitor arm. It was partially plastic but had a really well thought out design that prevented putting strain on the plastic components. Many of the standalone options I found were also partially plastic and I read reviews where people complained about the release components breaking. Even Ergotron’s official bracket had complaints about this. Other all metal options like Vivo’s didn’t seem robust enough and still had complaints. This product on the other hand is excellent. Feels amazing, has a superb weight rating and a seemingly very reliable securing mechanism. The price is also fair, at around $40, considering the build quality. The only issues I’ve found is: - The little retention circle’s spring is ridiculously stiff, I was concerned that I’d have a very difficult time removing it with the default setting. So per an online suggestion I opened up the compartment and cut about 2 rungs off the spring (30mm down to around 28mm or so). Now it’s perfect. The default may work for you if your other equipment (arms, monitor itself) are stiff and heavy - Marketing material says 75mm VESA compatibility, this is completely false. It has only 100x100 holes on both plates, it will absolutely not work with a smaller or larger pattern, without some kind of adapter plate; which is not included. But while the above is problematic, it seems that this is the best of its kind in a very niche category and for that I’m giving it 5 stars, compared to its peers.
