Well-made and solid collar and foot

I recently purchased the Really Right Stuff collar and foot for my 70-200 Canon rf lens. The collar fit very nicely on the lens and is smooth and very solid. I have complete confidence that my lens will not fall off of my tripod or mono pod. The only difficulty I have is that I use a ProMediaGear L plate with the offset vertical leg. This offset places the vertical leg of the L plate forward camera body. The L plate interferes with the rotation of the lens with the Really Right Stuff collar and foot. I have put on my old Kirk L plate and there’s plenty of clearance for the collar and foot. The collar and foot absolutely will not rotate 360° with the offset ProMediaGear L bracket. Just a word of caution to check the clearances on the collar and foot if you have an L plate with an offset vertical leg.

The Right Choice

I Have The Canon RF 70-200 F2.8. The Original Tripod Collar On The Lens In My Opinion Is The Weak Point. On Half A Dozen Photo Shoots The Collar Connection Came Loose And In Some Cases My Lens And Camera Fell To The Ground. The Last Straw Was At A Wedding With My Lens And Canon R1 On A Mono Pod. I Picked Up The Mono Pod And Both Camera And Lens Fell To The Ground, Even People Around Me Gasped As They Could Tell This Was Expensive Equipment (fortunately Both Camera And Lens Were Fine). All The Canon EF And RF Lenses I Own, I Have Never Had This Problem. This One Is Just Not Made Well. In My Research I Came Across The Really Right Stuff LC-A50 Collar. Although A High Price I Needed Something To Replace The Canon Collar As I Could Not Trust It. Got The RRS Collar In A Day Before Another Photo Shoot. Used It With A Tripod Shooting Horizontal And Vertical. Wow, What A Difference! Although Bulkier Than The Canon, The RRS Is Very Solid. Just What I Needed. I Totally Trust This Collar With My Canon Cameras And RF 70-200 F2.8 Lens.
