Elevating a celebrated studio legend to new heights, the DT 770 PRO X from Beyerdynamic are over-ear, closed-back studio monitoring headphones. Upgraded with PRO X tech, these headphones include new STELLAR.45 dynamic drivers for a superwide 5 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response and highly compatible 48-ohm impedance.

Along with enhanced drivers, the DT 770 PRO X sports a detachable cable with a reliable locking gold-plated mini-XLR connector for the earcup attachment, making the headphones easier to handle during regular use and ensuring you avoid accidental pullouts. Comfort remains a focus of the DT 770 PRO X. Soft replaceable velour earpads and ergonomic memory foam padding on the durable steel spring hoop headband provide long-lasting comfort during extended sessions. The DT 770 PRO X headphones include a detachable 9.8' mini-XLR to 3.5mm TRS cable, a 3.5mm to 1/4" TRS screw-on plug adapter, and a drawstring case.

Made in Germany, the DT 770 PRO X adds an exciting chapter to the successful Beyerdynamic DT series.

The Reference for a Range of Playback Equipment
Thanks to their dynamic STELLAR.45 driver with its broad frequency response of 5 to 40,000 Hz, the DT 770 PRO X headphones deliver studio reference sound on a wide range of playback equipment. With a 48-ohm impedance, these headphones are naturally compatible with both pro hardware (like mixers and interfaces) and consumer-grade tech like smartphones.
STELLAR.45 Driver
The STELLAR.45 sound transducer uses a neodymium magnet and a voice coil made from copper-plated precision wires. The resulting high conductivity of the driver system nad low weight is the reason for its high performance.

The driver system keeps distortion extremely low, even at high SPLs. The STELLAR.45 has an impedance of 48 ohms and proves that low-impedance sound transducers can deliver excellent studio-quality sound.

Detachable Cable
As requested by a number of users, the DT 770 PRO X headphones now offer even more flexibility thanks to their detachable cable. The headphones come with a 9.8'-long straight cable with lockable 3-pin mini-XLR connector. This can be connected to a variety of devices thanks to a 3.5mm stereo jack including a screwing 1/4" TRS adapter.
The Most Comfortable 770 Yet
In addition to the robust spring steel headband construction, it is the iconic velour earpads that ensure the headphones are comfortable even for long studio sessions. The soft memory foam used in the headband means it ergonomically adjusts to the shape of your head.

One new feature is the integrated fontanelle recess, which avoids pinching pressure-sensitive parts of the head. Both the headband and the earpads can be replaced if necessary.

The Stellar.45 driver systems are measured within tight tolerances several times during production. The combination of robust metal parts and impact- and scratch-resistant ABS plastic make the DT 770 PRO X a long-lasting companion for everyday studio use. Best cans that I've found in this price range, and Beyerdynamic finally fixed the fatal flaw with earlier version by making the cord detachable.

Bought these after watching numerous reviews online. I’m using them primarily with my digital piano, but tested them with my turntable and amp and they sounded great. For the price point, they perform well, are comfortable to wear for long periods and are well built.
