Along with 16 sequencer pads, the MESS (multi-effect step sequencer) features four RGB pads for triggering the four independent FX tracks. Two-hundred presets are included, and up to 1000 custom presets can be stored. Effects and functions include modulation, reverb, delay, looping, bitcrushing, and spectralization, as well as EQ, filters, panning, automation, and dedicated pitch shifters for sequenced pitching. You can engage in per-step parameter sequencing for truly adventurous sound design, and you can also adjust step probability and create polyrhythms and polymeters. Everything can be viewed on the big color screen, and you have two pots, four push encoders, and three footswitches for further control. Connections include a USB-C for charging, MIDI, and data transfer; a stereo pair of 1/4" outputs, a single stereo 1/4" TRS input, an expression pedal input, 3.5mm TRS MIDI I/O, and a microSD-card slot. The MESS includes a 32GB microSD card to get you started.
