It's rare that I'll write a review unless something is really good or really bad. I think this adapter was a HUGE miss for Amaran and I don't recommend purchasing it. While I love the Verge Max light and I'm excited to be using it in my setup, it's a massive headache to use this adapter whether you're mounting the light to a C-stand or a light stand. In my case, I'm mounting a light to a C-Stand behind my home camera setup and I've noticed a few things that make this more of a pain to use. For starters, the arm itself is really tall and if you're in a low ceiling room (roughly 7-8ft) you might find that due to the size of the light, it's going to be pretty high in comparison to where you might sit at desk height. Mine sits very close to the ceiling even on a C-stand at its lowest height and this doesn't really allow me much wiggle room. Second, the tilting/locking knob that allows you to tilt the light is not strong enough to hold the weight of the light. You really have to wrench it down and even still, it feels like this will fail in a short period of time. Third, this arm style doesn't allow for much flexibility when it comes to positioning the light to the left or the right the way you can with the desk mount. It would've been nice to be able to adopt the arm that attaches to the desk mount so that you can swing the light to the left or right. The locking pin on the mount isn't super easy to access once the light is on the mount and doesn't leave much confidence if I were trying to mount the light inverted such as from a drop ceiling baby pin mount. All in all, I really wish they had made a lower profile mount with stronger locking knobs that instill more confidence in mounting the light. I echo what others have said both in the reviews here and on YouTube that this is not a reliable mounting adapter and I would not recommend it as a long term solution. It's a shame and hopefully Amaran takes the feedback and creates a better solution.

I can’t for the life of me understand why they designed this with such a bend in it. Why not just straight up? As a result, you need a very wide based stand so it doesn’t tip over when using the Amaran Verge Max. Crazy.
