Think Tank Photo BackLight Reviews

It's the right size

I have a Panasonic S1RII and a Sigma 300-600/4. The Sigma comes with a nice-enough backpack case, but it has two dumb problems: - It doesn't fit the lens with a body mounted. - There are no pockets for critical accessories like a TC, internal filters, or batteries. This Think Tank isn't much bigger than the Sigma bag, but it fixes both problems. It fits (*barely*) the 300-600 with a body mounted, and it has a moderate amount of additional storage, all without being huge.

Great for big glass

This is a great solution for the superzoom f2.8 ,f4 etc crowd and is very thoughtfully designed. Materials are excellent and the included rain cover is a nice feature. Would love to see an external pop out tripod cup & straps down the center axis [like Vanguard offer] of this to make toting a heavy grade tripod easy along with the big glass, as an alternative or complement to side pockets for storing tripods which affect weight distribution and comfort. Perhaps a thoughtful gimbal pouch accessory would also be very useful that could attach to external straps since internal space is at a premium

This to big to use as a carry-on?
Asked by: Karl
The Think Tank Photo BackLight Long Lens Backpack has an external dimensions of 24.75 x 9.5 x 8.5" and this exceeds the typical US airline carry-on limit: generally around 22” x 14” x 9”. However, it is essential to check the specific carry-on size restrictions of your airline before flying, as these can vary.
