The V480N is compatible with Nikon i-TTL and also offers manual, multi, HSS, and second curtain sync characteristics. The V480N is similar to the Godox V860III and V350 flash units— smaller than the V860III and bigger and more powerful than the V350—designed as a medium-size, compact, yet powerful lighting solution with advanced features. A convenient LED modeling light is located right in the center of the flash body. Experience fast recharge and long-lasting shoots with a versatile flash head that tilts from -7 to 120° and rotates 330°. The flash runs on an included rechargeable battery to allow recycling times of 1.7 sec, providing enough energy for up to 650 full-power flashes. Godox Ving V480 Overview

Delivering plenty of light in a portable flash body, the Ving V480N TTL On-Camera Flash from Godox combines their 2.4 GHz X system for wireless flash control and TTL auto flash capability. The V480N is compatible with Nikon i-TTL and also offers manual, multi, HSS, and second curtain sync characteristics. The V480N is similar to the Godox V860III and V350 flash units— smaller than the V860III and bigger and more powerful than the V350—designed as a medium-size, compact, yet powerful lighting solution with advanced features. A convenient LED modeling light is located right in the center of the flash body. Experience fast recharge and long-lasting shoots with a versatile flash head that tilts from -7 to 120° and rotates 330°. Greater Lighting Control
Nikon i-TTL-compatible, the Ving V480N flash offers support for high-speed sync, 2nd curtain sync, and much more. The flash can be used in manual mode or programmed to fire multiple stroboscopic flashes, and it can also function with high-speed sync for quicker shutter speeds. On top of this, the flash features a guide number of 164' at ISO 100 along with flash durations from 1/600 to 1/20,000 sec, and adjustable output from 1/256 to full power.
Flexible Design
The V480N is useful for both on-camera and off-camera operation. The flash will provide ample illumination for most subjects. It features a convenient auto/manual zoom head with a range of 24-105mm, a white catchlight panel, and a built-in wide-angle diffuser. The head can be tilted from -7 to 120° and rotated 330° to control bounce and where the light falls on the scene.
2.4 GHz X Wireless Radio System
The Godox 2.4 GHz X wireless radio system makes it compatible with Godox's X series transmitters for more advanced functionality and setups. The wireless control of the V480N enables 2.4 GHz wireless flash triggering to extend your shooting possibilities. The flash works with the separately purchased XPro II, X2, and X3 Godox models. With a wireless range of 328', the V480N lets you choose between 32 channels and set up five groups.
Effective Battery Power
A 7.2V, 2200mAh lithium removable battery is supplied with recharge times of 1.7 seconds, providing approximately 650 full-power flashes per charge. Godox also includes the USB-C cable and power adapter in the box.

Ideal for photographers in need of both simple and elaborate lighting setups, the V480N has an easy-to-use design with onboard controls, a 2" touchscreen interface, and a universal shoe-mounted connection for a wide range of Nikon cameras. Additionally, indicators on the LCD panel inform you of the remaining battery level.
Stable Continuous Shooting
The V480N maintains a stable color output and brightness in high-speed continuous shooting.
LED Modeling Light
A 2W LED modeling light with adjustable brightness is integrated into the flash body with 5300K (+/-300K) CCT.
Firmware Updates
Firmware updates are available via its USB-C port for compatibility with the latest camera models and optimal performance.

Touch Screen is Very Annoying

The exterior of this flash looks very nice, and the size and weight are ideal. So I thought this would be the perfect flash. However, the touch screen is very annoying. First issue: there is no simple on-off switch. To turn the flash on, you have to press the power button and then turn the dial. If you don't do it just right, the flash won't go on. And turning the flash off requires a long press, because the power button doubles as the home screen button, so a short press just brings up the home screen. So the whole on-off process is just slow, not good for event photography. Second issue: the slightest touch of the touch screen can mess up the settings. I have to always keep the screen's Lock setting on to prevent accidental changes. But if I turn the flash off for a photo, and then turn it back on for another photo, the touch screen is no longer in the Lock position, leading to frequent accidental settings changes. This is a recipe for accidental settings and missed photos.

What max shutter speed High Speed Sync the flash can trigger when paired with Nikon Z8 on-camera or off-camera with a Godox X3N?

The Godox Ving V480N TTL On-Camera Flash for Nikon can sync up to 1/8000 with the Z8. It has not been tested, so results can vary.

Because this new flash works with Panasonic, does that mean that it's Leica compatible? f so, what modes?

The Godox Ving V480O TTL On-Camera Flash for Olympus and Panasonic will operate in manual and TTL modes on Olympus and Panasonic cameras; Leica is proprietary.

Godox does not list the watts on the Godox Ving V480C TTL On-Camera Flash for Canon. It is a standard speedlight and most are no more than 60-65 watts.

The Godox Ving V480S TTL On-Camera Flash for Sony (B&H# GOV480S) has a mostly metal male hot shoe akin to those on the other recent Godox speedlight releases. It does not have the mostly plastic hot shoe found on much earlier models.
