Pearstone OCX TOSLINK Reviews
Perfect for my needs.
I picked up the Pearstone OCX-10 TOSLINK Optical Cable in the 10-foot version, since I always worry about running out of length if I need to use it for something else or if I move my equipment around. They also offer a 3-foot version, just in case you need something shorter. Optical cables come in two main types: standard and ultra-thin, and this one is the ultra-thin variety. I have two home theaters, one simple setup in the living room and the fancy one in the dedicated theater room. The living room setup is in a tight space, with all the cables have to be hidden behind the equipment and cable managing tubes, so I needed something that could be easily concealed along with AC cables, HDMI etc. this optical cable was placed with all those cables in the same tube, no interfere of any kind. The thin design of this cable makes it ideal for that. Not only is it easy to hide, but it also tolerates a bit more bending. Just be careful not to bend it too sharply, or you could damage the optics. Now, for what really matters: I replaced a coaxial cable with this optical one because, in my opinion, optical is cleaner as it just transmits light. This cable handles everything I need, including surround sound formats like DTS, without any issues. Just make sure to keep the optical lens clean and free of scratches for the best signal quality. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review].
