    finally one that works!

I had the previous model and it was very frustrating. It would work intermittently, usually failing just when I needed it. This one, so far has performed admirably. I just hope it continues.

    Overpriced and limited Sony remote

For the cost of this remote, you'd think it would do more. Why doesn't it have a 4-way controller to move the AF point around? It does seem well constructed, so I'll give it that.

If I remap the movie button on the camera to focus peaking, will the remote record button still start video?
    Asked by: Niklas
The Sony RMT-VP2 Wireless Remote Commander (B&H# SORMTVP2) is essentially a set of buttons from your camera, with each being able to be actuated remotely. If remapped, the reassigned functions will be engaged by the buttons on the remote.

The Sony RMT-VP2 Wireless Remote Commander is a newer, more advanced model with greater functionality and range. This item has separate, dedicated buttons for key functions like movie recording, AF-ON, and shutter as well. Not all cameras work with this model, so please check compatibility with your Sony camera.

When using bulb mode do you have to hold the shutter button the whole time or is it push button for open and press button again for close? Thanks!!
    Asked by: Kelly
The bulb mode on the Sony RMT-VP2 Wireless Remote Commander is controlled by a 2 step process; press the shutter button once to open the shutter and a 2nd time to close the shutter. So you do not need to hold the shutter button down the whole time.
