M-Live GO8 AUTO SWITCH Overview

Ideal for live concerts and theatrical performances, the M-Live GO.8 is an automatic audio, video, and MIDI switcher designed to provide redundancy for live A/V production. Featuring two groups of eight audio channels, one MIDI line, and one video channel, the GO.8 lets you instantly switch to a backup A/V system when a crash occurs live.

With its plethora of connections, the GO.8 can switch between audio players, computers, MIDI controllers, and numerous other A/V devices. Audio connectivity into the device is offered via 1/4" TRS and DB25 connections. The GO.8 also features eight mic-level XLR outputs on the front panel, DB25 audio output on the rear panel, 5-pin DIN MIDI connections, and HDMI ports for video. A 1/4" link jack lets you cascade your GO.8 with optional second or third units for up to 32 channels of switchable audio. The system is also compatible with computers and smart devices, offering a foolproof backup system that can handle nearly any setup. The GO.8 features redundant power as well as signal redundancy, with the capacity to connect up to two power supplies.

Never Crash on Stage Again
GO.8 exploits a gate that detects the crash of the main machine and switches to the backup machine in real time, ensuring continuity, even in case of failure. Two groups of audio inputs (with 8 balanced channels), two video inputs, and two MIDI inputs are available, and switching between the two groups is done automatically by means of a sync-specific audio signal (sinusoidal, 1 kHz frequency) on GO.8 channel 8. As soon as the lack of this signal is detected, the device switches to input group B (redundant).
Compact and Robust
Housed in a sturdy 19" GO.8 steel rack, it has a choice of DB25 or 1/4" TRS input connectors with DB25 and XLR outputs. The front-panel XLR jacks produce a DI signal with balanced microphone level to feed a snake system and are transformer isolated to eliminate hum and hiss caused by ground loops. DB25 connectors at the rear of the panel provide balanced direct line-level connectivity.
Compatible with B.Beat
Using M-Live's products from the B.Beat line, it is possible to send the mixed sync signal to audio tracks on input 8 of the GO.8 (either 1/4" or DB25). This allows all available outputs on B.Beat to be used without having to sacrifice one for GO.8 operation.
Cascade Management
For complex configurations, multiple GO.8 can be connected, creating 16-, 24-, or 32-track systems. For example, use two GO.8s and cascade them for 16 audio channels generated by a B.Beat PRO16. Cascading also increases the number of available video and MIDI lines.
Supports PCs and Tablets
GO.8 is also suitable for Computer use, in which case, it is necessary to use one of the audio tracks as a drone, in order for GO.8 to have the proper signal to perform the switch in case of a crash from the main computer. It will be necessary to record an audio track on the DAW with a technical signal that will drive GO.8.

This track is not necessary if two B.Beat are used for backing tracks. GO.8 is the ideal device to build a system that is foolproof, and can prevent any kind of crash on stage.

SMPTE Track Management
GO.8 has a function for reading SMPTE timecode as an LTC signal from channel 7 (both group A and B) for real-time verification of the timecode value. The unit's power supply is also redundant: two power supplies can be connected to prevent shutdowns due to the failure of one power supply.
