Profoto continues to enlarge their LED series with the introduction of the L600D Daylight Mono-LED Light. Developed as a convenient all-in-one light source with no external ballast, the L600D has everything integrated right into the lamp head. The light combines cutting-edge features and power in a portable 13 lb design—a time-saving solution for fast-paced studios. Compared to the L1600D model, this 600W version is significantly lighter, but maintains the brand's HydroCTech cooling system, as well as advanced control methods and other professional features for cinematic lighting. Here, the Profoto Core LED engine ensures color accuracy, while delivering 600W of high-quality light output. With a fixed 5600K CCT, the L600D's light control is provided by precise 0.1 to 100% dimming without flicker. Experience high brightness, quiet operation, and fast setup on set. The L600D helps you focus on your creative vision.

how does the output compare to a flash monolight? say a D3 750w, is it really the time to swap from strobe to led?
The Profoto Pro-D3 750Ws Monolight is a very different light source than the Profoto L600D Daylight Mono-LED Light. So, you can't really compare the two light units against each other. The bright, crisp shadows produced by the short flash durations provided by the Profoto Pro-D3 750Ws Monolight are approximately 10,000-20,000 lumens at a time and always a precise color and temperature. The Profoto L600D Daylight Mono-LED Light can provide a high-output, daylight-accurate representation of 117,900 lux, perfect for video applications. They can both use the recommended Profoto modifiers.
