Dell P1425 Reviews
Fantastic portable monitor
This is a great portable monitor. The screen is very clear and bright. It is lightweight and easy for travel. I borrowed the older model from a friend, and this version is much improved. The screen is more squared and proportional to a computer screen whereas the old version is oddly wide and short.
Amazing - Only Worked 2 Months
I was super excited and really loved this monitor, while it lasted. Great picture quality & color, seamless integration with my dell laptop while on the go. However, for a wok trip, I placed it in my Tumi backpack (in the included Dell sleeve cover) only to find the screen was full of vertical lines and discoloration when turning on at my hotel room. Again, I’m very reasonable and would admit if I dropped it, had impact with it, but no , I did not. Called tech support and was told it was due to too much pressure applied on the screen, however it was just in my Tumi backpack in the laptop compartment. It wasn’t super packed, still had some room in there. Again, if there was a tiny of pressure from movement , it wasn’t enough to warrant this. Dell tech said likely because I put it in my backpack it was damaged, well it’s a portable monitor, that’s the purpose and use case, to be portable… as much as I love it, it is extremely delicate so if you plan to put in your bag, I would consider something else or get some type of extra care coverage for it. I’m very careful with my tech items, so this was a big let down, now I’ll have to buy a new portable monitor as dell wont cover the repair or replacement for this $330 monitor I had for 2 months. I’ll likely go for a Lenovo or ASUS. Be careful, only buy if you plan to replace often.
