This unit captures license plates of vehicles traveling at up to 50 mph from a range up to 60' away. It features a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor to capture 2592 x 1944 resolution video at 30 fps. Smart IR provides up to 80' of night vision. The camera's 6-50mm motorized varifocal lens delivers a 40.8 to 6.9° angle of view. Two-way audio is possible thanks to an audio input and output. An onboard slot supports microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards (available separately). Integrated PoE technology simplifies connectivity by enabling the transfer of power and data through a single cable.

This camera is ONVIF compliant, making it compatible with a wide range of surveillance devices. Its enclosure is IP66 and IK09 rated for safe outdoor use in areas at risk of vandalism.

Excellent camera. Documentaion a little weak but it works.

You just have to get used to the idea that visible light means nothing in setting up. While visible light will show a dark B&W image, you need to play with the shutter speed in manual mode. Auto exposure did not work for me. I wound up using 1/600 sec shutter speed to get the plate numbers. My speed was only 15-20 mph so i can say it will work for faster speeds but you are going to need to have the camera close to the traffic. The rated 60' is serious. I was at 80' and got nothing. I had to move to about 30' to really get good shots. This means that the zoom lens going to 50mm isn't really going to be used - if you zoom in that close, you are really probably to far from the subject for the IR lights to work. The IR lights are on day and night and are needed all the time. Sometime I may purchase a narrow beam IR light to enhance the photo even better.
