The DOWNTOWN Multichannel Encoder from Turtle AV encodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X signals to independent Dante channels for flexible routing. The encoder features HDMI ports that support up to 8K60 video. Other input sources include Optical, ARC, and eARC inputs. Additional audio formats supported by DOWNTOWN include Dolby Digital, DD+, Dolby Atmos, DTS Digital Surround, DTS:X, and PCM 9.1/7.1.2/7.1/5.1/2.0. Built-in redundancies make the machine ultrareliable in broadcast applications.
Supported Formats
The wide variety of supported audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS:X, and PCM, up to 9.1 channels for full compatibility with immersive and surround sound environments.
Independent Dante Channels
Each Dante channel is delivered as its own stream for precise routing, mixing, and processing with the Dante controller of your choice. All audio is encoded with full AES67 compatibility for integration in networked audio environments.
8K60 HDMI with Loop Output
Pass uncompressed 8K60 video through in HDR formats, such as Dolby Vision, using the onboard HDMI input and loop-through output for local monitoring or display.
Separate Control Network
A third network port allows you to separate the control from the Dante audio network stream.
Stereo Mixdown
Downmix various audio formats to stereo for use in legacy applications, recording, or livestreaming. The DOWNTOWN supports up to 10 audio channels to deliver a full 7.1 stream as eight Dante channels plus a separate stereo mixdown.
Primary and Secondary Dante Networks
Dual network ports provide Primary and Secondary Dante streams for redundancy and uninterrupted audio delivery.
PoE Redundancy
Both network ports offer PoE power for redundancy. A locking DC connector gives you triple the reassurance.
