[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is a perfect every day bag, it has the most thoughtful pouches and pockets. I LOVE that the side pockets have zippers to make it bigger to put a big owala in it. All around its a great bag and SUPER good quality.
Great Concept, Missed Execution

I love the idea of the Prvke EDC, but it just misses the mark for me. I loved my Prvke Lite so much that I backed the EDC and Prvke 4 on Kickstarter. I have the Prvke Lite, which I adore. I upgraded to the EDC with the hope that it would be as good as, or better than, my Prvke Lite. While the EDC boasts great features on paper, its execution, unfortunately, misses the mark for me, leading me to seriously consider switching back to the Lite.Successful and Semi-Successful AdditionsThe new model does bring some useful improvements compared to the Prvke Lite:•Hidden Security Pocket: The addition of the hidden pocket behind the luggage strap is nice and perfect for securely stashing a passport or wallet during travel.•Padded external Zipper Pocket: Because my laptop is too big for the internal padded pocket, I use this one instead, but it is a tight fit.•Top Zipper Access: The new top zipper access into the bag is nice. I rarely have to unroll the top to get to what I need, but the padded pocket does get in the way of getting to what I need or trying to slide something in.•Internal Organization: I like that they added the additional mesh pockets to the inside sides and back of the bag, but they do not seal, so things can fall out if your bag flips over. The Bad: Execution Flaws and Missed RegressionsThese design changes actively create friction in my daily use:Aesthetic and Security•Color Change: I miss the two-tone aesthetic of the older model (the black roll top) and would have preferred it to the solid color of the new EDC, and almost did not buy it because of that change. I was also very sad it was not offered in Grey. I went to pretty extreme lengths to find my Grey Prvke Lite.•Roll Top Security: The Velcro on the roll top feels less secure than on the older model, and does not roll as tightly.External Access and Pockets•Water Bottle Trade-off: While I was happy for two water bottle pockets, I rarely use both. More importantly, I miss the side-access zipper into the main compartment, which was far more useful for quick internal reach than the second bottle pocket.•Key Pocket: The bag’s structure makes the key pocket on the side very hard to utilize for anything beyond thin items. I thought it would be a good replacement for the roll-top zipper pocket on the Light to store frequently used items like my wallet, chapstick, keys, a pen, and other small miscellaneous items I use frequently, but it is simply too tight, and the structure of the back of the bag interferes with access. I refuse to carry a purse and a backpack at the same time.• When using the large back zipper pocket for my computer, the zipper pulls from the water bottle pockets constantly snag and get in the way, the bag straps itself also stop the zipper from going all the way down and have to be moved to finish unzipping the pocket.Internal and Strap Issues•Laptop Fit: My laptop is too large for the dedicated internal laptop sleeve, rendering that space useless. While it does fit in the large back zipper pocket, the fit is tight. To be fair I anticipated that this might be an issue before I purchased because my laptop (14” Dell Alienware has odd dimensions.•Strap Management: The dangling cross-body strap on the shoulder straps is annoying. I do not use it, and in the older Prvke style, they could be neatly clipped to their own side to stay out of the way.•Missing Quick-Access: I very much miss the top external pocket from the previous Prvke model, a huge loss of quick-access storage.Final VerdictThe Prvke EDC takes few steps forward with added internal pockets, external padded pocket, and top access but also takes a few steps back by removing key functional features I relied on in the Prvke Lite (better external storage, side access zipper, clean strap management). As a daily user who carries a computer and books everywhere, I am disappointed with the trade-offs and will likely return to my Prvke Lite. If I could return it, I would.
